H1N1 Vaccine Will Be Available at District Schools
Tulsa Public Schools is making available the H1N1 vaccine free of charge. Nineteen schools have been approved by the Tulsa Health Department to receive the vaccine. The schools are being divided into three groups. Dates for the second and third groups will be announced by TPS once the health department informs the district.
Tulsa Health Department H1N1 Walk-in Clinics Scheduled
During the week of November 2nd, the Tulsa Health Department will be utilizing their current supply of H1N1 vaccine to vaccinate children and faculty at local area schools. During school-based vaccinations, the vaccine is only available to children enrolled at the school and faculty.

into
student athlete eligibility at Booker T. Washington High School.
A thorough review of weekly academic standings for participants
in all school activities revealed 37 students competed as ineligible
athletes in softball, volleyball, cross country and football. (Complete

Wind Turbine Testament to Green Energy
A 30-foot wind turbine—a monument to sustainable energy, state-of-the-art technology and the smarts of Tulsa Public Schools students—is coming to the district’s Helmzar Challenge Course thanks to a collaboration between Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor and Global New Energy Solutions, a company specializing in renewable energy sources.
Community Health and Safety Fair
Park Elementary School has received national recognition for its commitment to healthy living. On Thursday, November 19, Park hosts a Community Health and Safety Fair. More than thirty service organizations are attending with the goal of teaching parents and students safety-related tips. Door prizes include items such as bike helmets, smoke detectors and first aid kits.
Honoring the ‘Big-Hearted’ BTW Student
A Booker T. Washington High School senior has a big heart and he’ll receive some official recognition for it. The Eastern Oklahoma Association of Fundraising Professionals is giving the Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy award to Ben Perrault.
Continuation School Holds Ribbon Cutting
The Tulsa Public Schools mission of providing every student with the means to graduate receives another boost with Continuation School, a user-friendly educational institution. The grand opening ceremony for Continuation School is November 2 at 2:30 p.m.
